J S Hall ( Mumbai University Hostel located at B-Road, Churchgate) is a dream place to be for most of students, for that sake anyone. Located mid way between Churchgate and Marine lines, this area is know for the famous Government Hostels, Jai Hind College, Sydenham College, Government law College and Hotels.!
Every morning you wake up with the daily rush for morning duties. Moving towards bathroom you wonder " Mera number kab aayega." Somehow you get through it and wonder why the water is always cold? You hurry for college looking into the full size mirror at the entrance. Coming out of hostel you get a glimpse of students entering Sydenham College. For natural reasons your speed slows down irrespective whether you are late or not. Somehow you find a taxi and move for college.
While returning from college some of the guys take a long route through the A- road, passing through Jai Hind and GLC. You seem to be super excited when you pass through this route. Back in hostel you are welcomed with songs you haven't heard before. Each floor has its unique pattern. Doesn't matter what music it is, you need a reason to dance.
For dinner its the usual fight over what to eat. Someone shouts about a free pizza / MacD / any food offer and there you are, people are mobbed at his room discussing about the offer. After lot of budget calculations finally its decided to order. Then the next half an hour is crucial determining what to order and collecting money. Then comes the family meal for all, a random room with all people eating and having fun. And if it is an abnormal day you go to hostel canteen. Besides you have Bachelors, Delhi Darbar, Bhagat Tarachand, Sardar,Cafe Mondegar, Sports bar, Leopold Cafe all in the vicinity.
With Marine Drive at a walking distance, its the favorite place for hangout. Specially weekends are fun. At any time you find some hostelite on the marine drive either jogging or chilling out or taking a short walk. The gust of air with the waves create a soothing effect each and every time you go there. The after dinner ice pan, ice cream add to the fun.
Every Friday here is a movie day. Eros, a financially viable theater for all students is located at walking distance.
Cricket Matches at Wankhede: The area becomes "Mela" during match time. With all the whistles, the crowd and the flags everywhere excitement is in the air. 'Sachinnnn Sachinnn" can be heard from the room itself! Although sometimes your exams ruin your fun.
This place is like a dream, a family to live with. Located in South Mumbai you have every thing nearby ranging from Fashion Street to Colaba Restaurants. You even get a place to sit in the Local even if you are going to Virar.
The fun, the entertainment, the friends @JS Hall will always be etched forever in memories, a dream come true.
